Trailer: The CW’s “Gotham Knights”
While The CW has been drastically pairing down its Arrowvers output, recently axing Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman and Naomi, the network isn’t completely giving up on DC content, as they have just dropped the first trailer for their new comic adaptation: Gotham Knights.
The show will follow Bruce Wayne’s adopted son Turner Hayes (Oscar Morgan) who received the news from District Attorney Harvey Dent (Misha Collins) that Wayne has been murdered. However, Hayes, along with three other teens, who just so happen to be the children of some of Gotham’s baddeest villains, are accused of the murder and will have to join forces with Carrie Kelley (Navia Robinson) to prove their innocence and find the real killers.
Interestingly, it seems that the world of Gotham Knights knows that Bruce Wayne was Batman, while Carrie Kelley appears to be the sole incarnation of Robin. Currently, the series is being set up as a standalone project and not apart of the Arrowverse, which will still have a heavy presence with The Flash, Superman & Lois and Stargirl all returning with new seasons. However, that could change as The CW has had no quams in the past with merging disparate universes, as they did with the critical darling Black Lightning a few years back.
Fallon Smythe, Tyler DiChiara, Olivia Rose Keegan, Anna Lore, and Rahart Adams lead they ensemble cast for Gotham Knights, which is set to premiere in 2023.
