Trailer: Nic Cage Hosts “History Of Swear Words” For Netflix
Nicolas Cage is one of the most eclectic actors the entertainment industry has ever produced. His method is so well known that Pedro Pascal actually used it as inspiration for his Wonder Woman 1984 villain. What’s more, Cage has an extremely varied resume, starring in everything from blockbuster vehicles like The Rock and Con-Air to indie awards bait and direct-to-DVD disappointments. Now, the actor is adding something new, as he’ll be hosting Netflix’s History of Swear Words and the streamer just dropped a full trailer for the show.
As the title posits, the docuseries will investigate the origins of curses, specifically focusing on their pop culture usage, as well as look at the cultural impact they’ve had. Each episode will be 20-minutes and has Cage conducting interviews with historians, etymologists, entertainers and experts in pop culture. The project will also feature a wide range of guests, such as Jim Jefferies, Joel Kim Booster, Nikki Glaser, Nick Offerman, London Hughes and Sarah Silverman.
History of Swear Words is set to debut on the service on January 5th and will be produced by Funny or Die and B17 Entertainment production. Bellamie Blackstone serves as the showrunner and an executive producer. You can check out the full trailer below:
