Trailer: HBO Max’s “George Carlin’s American Dream”

George Carlin in lauded as one of the most prolific and influential comedians of all time. His humor was largely observational, forcusing often on family, religion, and politics, while his “seven dirty words” bits is one of the most celebrated routines of the last fifty years. While his passing in 2008 was a huge loss for the entertainment world, his comedy has lived on, finding new relevance in the confusing nature of modern day society. Seeking to commemorate Carlin, HBO Max has teamed with Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio for a two-part docimentary titled George Carlin’s American Dream, with the streamer just dropping the first trailer.

The project will explore of George Carlin, which spanned over half a century. During that time Carlin had his own sitcom, starred in a number of feature films, most notably for director Kevin Smith in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, as well as headlining 14 HBO comedy specials. A who’s who of comedians, including Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Patton Oswalt, Stephen Colbert, Bill Burr, W. Kamau Bell, Sam Jay, Judy Gold, Jon Stewart, amongst others, will be featured to discuss the legacy of the mazing comedian and how he influenced them. George Carlin’s American Dream will hit HBO Max May 20th.
