Teaser: Andrew Garfield In “Under The Banner Of Heaven”

Fresh from his key supporting role in Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, actor Andrew Garfield can next be seen in FX’s, Under the Banner of Heaven, an event series adaptation of Jon Krakauer’s true crime novel, with the cable network just releasing a trailer for the project.

The series will follow Garfield as a devout detective whose faith is tested while investigating a brutal murder that seems to be connected to an esteemed Utah family. The family in question had recently turned to Mormon fundamentalism, which gives Garfield’s detective a crisis of conscience and forces him to reevaluate his beliefs.

Oscar Winner Dustin Lance Black (Milk) is the showrunner, as well as an executive producer, alongside Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Jason Bateman. In addition, David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water) was tapped to direct, with Daisy Edgar-Jones also starring in the show. Under the Banner of Heaven will premiere exclusively on Hulu later this year, though no specific date has yet been announced.
