“Pennyworth” Season Two Trailer Released By Epix And DC

Epix recently released a new trailer for the second season of the Batman prequel Pennyworth. This follows on from well-received first season, which wrapped in September of 2019, which saw Alfred save the Queen of England herself, but run afoul of his own father.

The series sophomore effort sees the Dark Knight’s future butler square off against Lord Harwood (Jason Flemyng) and his neo-fascist group, Raven Union, who have pushed England into a devastating Civil War. Pennyworth, himself, is in North London, one of the few holdouts against the nefarious group amidst the fighting, and is running The Delaney, a neutral black market.

Many were skeptical when the series was first announced. It was generally considered to be a cheap cash in on the Batman franchise and another needless prequel. However, the series, which effortlessly blends camp with a unique brand of spy-action adventure, has been something of a hit. Fans have enjoyed the chance to see Alfred in his early years, and the show is adding some depth to comics most famous butler. Pennyworth returns to Epix airwaves on December 13th.
