First Trailer: Apple+ TV’s “Mythic Quest” Season 2
Apple+ Tv’s Mythic Quest was a surprise hit for the fledgling streamer back in early 2020. The show was created by Rob McElhenney, the foremost creative mind behind the cult classic It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and, as such, it features a lot of the cast from that FXX program.
And while Mythic Quest does have a similar comedic approach, it’s far more subtle, and has a little bit more heart than the rough and tumble crew of Paddy’s Pub. It features a motley crew of coders and creative working together to run the world’s largest and most successful MMO, all led by McElhenney’s eccentric and egomaniacal, Ian..
The show did suffer some bad PR late last year, when it came to light that the team behind the series were being pushed to bend COVID restrictions to keep the shooting schedule on track, but it seems that the situation was quickly cleared up and there has been nothing but good things heard from the show since.
In fact, season 2 is set to hit the network on May 7th of this year, and to promote its eminent arrival, Apple dropped the first trailer, which features Poppy and Ian debuting the first expansion to the Mythic Quest in-series game, as a result of their partnership. There’s also some hints at the hilarious mishaps that are ins-store, and the reveal that Snoop Dogg will have a cameo appearance. The full trailer can be seen below:
