Trailer: “Winnie The Pooh: Blood & Honey”
Some properties are just primed for a reimagining, such as when Christopher Nolan cut out all of the camp and brought the Caped Crusader to the big screen as a dark and gritty vigilante in Batman Begins back in 2005. Well, with A.A. Milne’s most famous works becoming public domain this year, the most obvious choice was to take the beloved children’s character and make him a serial killer, as the first trailer for the horror slasher film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey has just been released by Premiere Entertainment.
Craig David Dowsett and Chris Cordell star as Winnie and Piglet, repectively, and set off on a killing spree after they feel they’ve been abandoned by Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon), who’s grown up and left for college. The pair turn animaistic and decide to punish all of humanity for their loss, hunting humans throughout the village. Rhys Waterfield directs the the darkly comic feature, which is said to strike a disturbing tone alongside a bevy of true scares, beneath the absurdity of the concept of Winnie the Pooh as a horror film.
ITN Studios will distribute Winnie The Pooh: Blood & Honey, which is set to release later this year, though no specific release date has been settled on as of now. It seems primed for a Halloween debut, given the absurd nature of the project.
