Trailer: Amy Poehler In Netflix’s “Moxie”
Netflix is really firing on all cylinders now, with several of their films and shows getting some major recognition at the Golden Globe nomination announcements. Not to rest on their laurels, the streamer has unveiled the trailer for their next comedy feature, Amy Poehler’s Moxie.
The story follows a young teen girl frustrated with the juvenile and delinquent actions of her peers, which seem to go unnoticed by their parents and the leadership at her high school. Determined to do something to expose the wrongdoing, the girl, using her mother’s rebellious past as inspiration, anonymously publishes an underground magazine with the hope that it will highlight and put an end to the hypocrisy. However, her writings inadvertently strike the spark that ignites a movement in her school, which crosses all boundaries and forges unexpected friendships and alliances.
Poehler stars as the mother, and also directs the movie, while Hadley Robinson is the young girl. They are joined by a talented ensemble that includes Clark Gregg, Josie Totah, Anjelika Washington, Sabrina Haskett, Lauren Tsai, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Ike Barinholtz. Moxie will debut on the service on March 3rd.
