Trailer: 20th Century Studios’ “The King’s Man”
Kingsman: The Secret Service, and it’s sequel, The Golden Circle, were big hits for Fox in the late-2010’s, with fans responding to the irreverent tone and over-the-top action. As such, a full-fledged cinematic universe was planned, with further sequels, as well as spin-offs and even a TV show. However, the first production to get off the ground was The King’s Man, a prequel starring Ralph Fiennes as first agent of the titular organization.
The film was originally set to debut over two years ago, but a mix of production delays and the ongoing pandemic have forced the film back multiple times. However, 20th Century Studios seems intent on releasing the project this year and this trailer kicks off the new marketing push.
The story, which is set in the 1910’s, delves into the origins of the world’s first independent intelligence agency. The agents of Kingsman are forced to deal with a who’s who of historical tyrants who want to start a war that will kill millions, though time is not on their side and it’s a race against the odds to see if they can save the day.
Fiennes is joined by a brilliant ensemble that includes Harris Dickinson, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Daniel Bruhl, and Charles Dance. 20th Century Studios produced movie, while Disney distributes and The King’s Man is currently set to open on December 22nd of this year.
