Second Trailer: Sony and Marvel’s “Morbius”
Sony as dropped a new trailer for their upcoming Marvel Comics adaptation Morbius, which is based on the iconic Spider-Man villain. Jared Leto stars in the Daiel Espinosa-helmed project, which purportedly connects not only to the Sony Venom universe, but also the MCU and the Amazing Spider-Man universe.
The plot of the film will follow scientist Michael Morbius who suffers from a from a rare blood disease that is slowly killing him. In an attempt to cure himself, he dabbled in some very suspect science. And while he does seemingly rid himself of the sickness, he also unintentionally becomes afflicted with a form of vampirism, turning him into a Living Vampire, harkening back to his comics namesake.
Leto will be joined by Matt Smith, who stars as the villain Loxias Crown. Tyrese Gibson and Al Madrigal are FBI agents hunting him down, while Jared Harris plays Morbius’ mentor, and Adria Arjona is portraying the female lead as Morbius’ fiancée.
Sony and Marvel‘s Morbius is set to debut exclusively in theaters on January 28th, 2022, a full two years after the first trailer originally hit.
