Official Teaser: DC’s “Black Adam”

Warner Bros. subsidiary New Line Cinema has dropped the first trailer for its upcoming DC live-action superhero adaptation Black Adam starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the lead role.

The story follows the titular Black Adam, who, 5,000 years previously, was imprisoned after being bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods, in in manner similar to Shazam. Fast forward to the present day and Black Adam is somehow released from his shackles and will work toward getting his revenge on anyone in his way.

And while Johnson heads the cast, he’ll be joined by an impressive ensemble that includes Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, who all make up the Justice Society of America, marking that groups live-action cinematic debut.

The film has been in the works for over six years at this point and this trailer is the first real glimpse that fans are getting of the project, barring the brief footage that was released as a part of the DC Fandome event earlier this year. Jaume Collet-Serra directed the feature from a script written by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani.

Black Adam will open in cinemas and on IMAX screens on October 21st.
