Frank Grillo Takes On Mel Gibson In Hulu’s “Boss Level”

Time loop stories are something of a Hollywood favorite, especially since the formula was arguably perfected with Bill Murray’s Groundhog’s Day. Since then, everything from cult tv show Supernatural to last year’s critically acclaimed Andy Samberg-led Palm Springs, have used the method to great effect. Now, Hulu (the distributor for Palm Springs) is going back to that well, dropping a new trailer for Joe Carnahan’s Boss Level.

Action star Frank Grillo (Captain America: Winter Soldier) plays the lead, a former special forces soldier trapped in a time loop repeating the day of his own murder. In order to save himself and break the loop, he’ll have to investigate secret government project headed up by Mel Gibson’s seemingly villainous character. However, a team of brutal assassins are in his way and determined to stop him from learning the truth, and it’ll take everything he has to unravel the mystery.

Grillo and Gibson are joined in the project by a talented ensemble including Academy Award winner Naomi Watts in the role of Grillo’s ex-wife, as well as Will Sasso, Annabelle Wallis Ken Jeong, Selina Lo, Meadow Williams, Michelle Yeoh and NFL superstar Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski. Boss Level will be available to stream on Hulu on March 5th.
