English Language Trailer: “Earwig and the Witch”

The English dub trailer for Earwig and the Witch, the first-ever CG animated feature from celebrated animation house Studio Ghibli, has finally released ahead of a North American release in early 2021, after recently announcing the official voice cast.

Taylor Paige Henderson plays the titular Earwig, an orphan adopted by a witch named Bella Yaga who comes to find that her new life isn’t exactly what she thought it would be. Audiences have been excited for the project since its announcement and if it proves successful it could lead to more CG-animated content from Studio Ghibli.

The film, which hit theaters in Japan on December 30th, is being distributed in the states by GKIDS. It was directed by Goro Miyazaki, the son of legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki and has a voice cast that includes Kacey Musgraves, Richard E. Grant, and Dan Stevens.
