First Trailer: Universal’s “Halloween Ends”
Universal and Blumhouse teamed up back in 2018 for a revival of sorts of the classic horror franchise, Halloween, complete with Jamie Lee Curtis reprisig her most iconic role. That film went on to be one of the bigger hits of that year and led to a resurgence of the property. Now, the first trailer for the final installment of the planned trilogy, Halloween Ends, has arrived.
The movie picks up four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills with Laurie living with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and finishing work her memoir. And while Michael Myers is still at large, no one has seen the deranged killer since that fateful night, with many assuming he perished after his brutal fight with the townsfolk. However, when a young man, Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell), is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it brings back all the painful memories of the past that quickly transform into a nightmare and Laurie is once again forced to confront the seemingly unstoppable evil she that is her brother, Michael, with the hope of finishing him off, once and for all.
Filmmaker David Gordon Green is back once again, with Curtis playing the lead alongside a strong ensemble that includes Will Patton, James Jude Courtenay, Nick Castle, Kyle Richards, Omar Dorsey, and Michael O’Leary. The project will mark Curtis’ final appearance as Laurie Strode, which she played in seven films of the series, as the actress has stated she won’t return again. And interestingly, producer/composer John Carpenter has promised that this latest entry in the franchise is “going to make people very angry,” and be “shocking”, so it’s possible that Laurie Strode might die in her attempt to stop Michael.
The Blumhouse-produced freature, Halloween Ends, releases only in cinemas on October 14th.
