“Supernatural” Alum Joins The CW’s “Gotham Knights”
The CW’s upcoming DC police procedural Gotham Knights is one of the most ambitious shows currently in development for the network. It will be set in its own universe, separate from the DC film franchise and the various Arrowverse titles. But things are moving quickly on the project, which is proving to be a high priority for The CW, and it has just been announced that Supernatural alum Misha Collins has been cast as Harvey Dent.
The series will follow the Dark Knight’s adopted son, Oscar Morgan, who forms an alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing Gotham’s fearsome protector. Over the course of their investigations, they form a tenuous family unit while also morphing into a new generation of heroes for the crime-ridden city.
Collins is seemingly playing a version the Gotham City District before he becomes the villain Two-Face, one of Batman’s most well-known rogues. Currently, he’s only signed on for the pilot, so it’s unclear how big of a role he’ll have. Should the series moves forward as expected, the fan favorite actor will likely see his role expanded. Collins will be the 6th person to take on the role, following in the footsteps of Billy Dee Williams, Tommy Lee Jones and Aaron Eckhart from the various films, and Nicholas D’Agosto and Richard Moll on the small screen side. In fact, Collins even took to twitter, commenting that he asked if his version could be “wearing a beige trench coat.”
I’ve asked if my version of the character could be wearing a beige trench coat over the grey suit. (I’m just not sure I’ll be comfortable in front of a camera without one.) #newTVgig #GothamKnights pic.twitter.com/a5F1EFnjzX

Gotham Knights is being written by Batwoman alums Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux and Natalie Abrams, while Olivia Rose Keegan, Navia Robinson, Fallon Smythe and Tyler DiChiara are heading the cast as the series’ leads. Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti Productions are producing the project, with Danny Cannon set as the pilot’s director. No specific airdate has been announced, but it’s likely being set up as a new addition to The CW’s Fall 2022 slate.
