Marvel Drops New “Loki” Footage At MTV Awards
Marvel has a lot of content coming down the pipeline, from series to specials and more films. Moreover, Feige and Co. are taking even bigger chances with their IP’s, which is cause for excitement for many fans, as audiences are getting stories they never thought possible. And amidst the crowded MCU halls, one of the earliest shows to be announced, Loki, still stands as one of the most anticipated.
With that series gearing up for its Disney+ debut, Marvel has kicked promotion for it into high gear and used last night’s MTV Movie and TV Awards to drop a new clip for Loki. The footage showcases the titular Asgardian arguing with Owen Wilson’s Agent Mobius as he gets escorted through the Time Variant Authority offices.
Not to say those are negatives, as each of those shows used those themes to enhance the storytelling. But Loki seems to be all about expanding the understanding of the MCU’s time travel function. Moreover, it’s an opportunity for the fan-favorite character to finally take the lead. Fans have long wanted Tom Hiddleston’s smarmy rogue to get the spotlight, and if the show gets received well, it’s quite possible that the show could get more seasons.
Whatever the case, audiences don’t have long to wait, with Marvel’s Loki set to hit Disney+ on June 9th, with new episodes to drop weekly after that.
