AEW Star Brodie Lee Passes Away At 41

AEW superstar Brodie Lee (Jon Huber) passed away this past Saturday as a result of a lung condition which he was have treated at the Mayo Clinic. He was only 41 years old at the time of his death.

Huber first came to prominence in the wrestling industry as a part of WWE where he performed under the name Luke Harper. He was a member of the Wyatt Family, alongside Erick Rowan and Bray Wyatt, and the trio would go on to have great success as one of the most formidable groups. While he was with the WWE, Huber became a three-time tag team champion and held the Intercontinental Championship once.

He would later leave the WWE and join AEW, changing his ring name to Brodie Lee and being revealed as the leader of the dastardly faction, The Dark Order. Many feel this was the best era of Huberā€™s career and heā€™d go on to hold the TNT Championship once. AEW would go on to release a statement about the wrestlerā€™s untimely passing, stating:

The All Elite Wrestling family is heartbroken. In an industry filled with good people, Jon Huber was exceptionally respected and beloved in every way ā€” a fierce and captivating talent, a thoughtful mentor and simply a very kind soul that starkly contradicted his persona as Brodie Lee. Jonā€™s love for his wife Amanda, and children Brodie and Norman, was evident to all of us who were fortunate enough to spend time with him, and we send our love and support to his beautiful family, today and always. Jonā€™s popularity among his peers and influence on the wrestling world was worldwide and transcended AEW, so this loss will be felt by many for a long time. We were privileged at AEW to call Jon Huber a brother, a friend and one of our own.

On behalf of FilmIronic, we send our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Brodie Lee. He was a special talent and will be missed.
