Paramount Brings 4 Cast Members Back For “Scream 6”
Scream is one of the most beloved horror franchises going, with legions of fans coming to love the irreverent antics of the series. Following on from the success of a Scream 5 earlier this year, Paramount Pictures was quick to announce a sixth entry, with Courtney Cox confirming that she was on board for another outing as Gale Weathers. Fast forward to today and there have been four more announced returning cast members.
Notably, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega are coming back into the fold as the siblings Sam and Tara Carpenter, respectively. And coming with them are Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding as the Meeks-Martin siblings, with Brown portraying a movie geek named Mindy, while Gooding is a loudmouth jock named Chad.
The sixth installment of the long-running horror franchise will follow the survivors of the Ghostface killings as the leave Woodsboro intent on leaving the tragedy behind them and starting anew. However, things don’t quite go as expected, with a new Ghostface showing up to terrorize them once again.
Interestingly, when asked about her potential involvement, series lead Neve Campbell revealed to ET Online that she’s not sure if she’ll be returning for the next film as yet. Even so, filming is currently planned to kick off as early as next month, with principal photography to take place in Canada, mostly in Vancouver. Furthermore, the core creative team behind the fifth film are back, with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick penning the script alongside the directors, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
Scream 6 is currently targeting a March 31st, 2023 release, though that is still considered tentative at this time.
