While Fast and the Furious 9 left many with a sense of disappointment, there is still a large amount of excitement surrounding the tenth installment, aptly titled Fast X.

And the thing that has gotten most people’s attention is the significant star power that is joining the project. Not only are all the series regulars like Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Tyrese Gibson returning, but new faces, such as Captain Marvel herself, Brie Larson, have been announced as part of the cast.

Most interesting, though, is the villain of the film, who will be played by none other that Jason Momoa. However, this character will be unlike anything the actor has portrayed before. Momoa initially caught the public’s attention as the hard-nosed Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones and has since made a career out of playing surly and imposing tough guys with hearts of cold. This time though, he’ll get let his inner Ric Flair shine, with extra flamboyance and showmanship, as he’ll apparently be sporting pink and purple painted toenails along with a lavender-colored car in the film.

Speaking to British GQ, Momoa opened up about his excitement about taking on the role and what fans can expect, specifically stating that:

It’s been hard because people always think I’m just this dude who plays [macho characters]. But I want to be moved, I want something new. Things are changing, and even the villain roles I’m playing now are eccentric. I’m a peacock at the highest level and I’m having the time of my life.

It’s good to hear that he’s enjoying his time so much, so hopefully Fast X will be a more successful entry that the overly dreary ninth installment, which supposedly co-starred John Cena, though no one can confirm his appearance, as no one could see him.

Fast X is set to open in cinemas May 19th, 2023. Momoa, meanwhile,  will next be seen in the third and final season of Apple TV+’s See, due out later this month, and in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in March of next year.
