Trailer: Netflix’s “Dragon Age: Absolution”

Not sure anyone was clamoring for an animated spin-off of Dragon Age, but here we are. Especially given the glut of D&D styled animated show already permeating the marketplace, such as Amazon’s highly regarded Vox Machina or Netflix’s own The Witcher spin-offs, this one feels like slightly overkill. Either way, the trailer looks fun and seems like more of a strategic tie-in with the upcoming Dreadwolf, the next iteration of the game series planned for release in 2024.

After all, it’s important to keep conent out for the masses. The series will be six episodes long and is set in the nation of Tevinter. The story will see a small crew, led by an elven mercenary named Miriam (Kimberly Brooks), attempt a heist against the most powerful man in the country. However, things go terribly wrong and the crew will have to find a way to survive, all while Miriam confronts the tragic past she’s spent a lifetime trying to escape.

Dragon Age: Absolution is set to premiere on Netflix with all six episodes launching on December 9th.
