Trailer: Netflix’s “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness” Anime Series
Resident Evil is one of the most well-known video game franchises in existence. It has been successful for decades and has legions of rabid fans. It’s also the most prolific in terms of cinematic adaptations, with six live-action adaptations starring Milla Jovovich in the tank, and a seventh which will function as a reboot due out later this year. However, Netflix is also getting in on the adaptation game, with the streamer producing a computer graphic anime series based on the property titled, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, and they just released the trailer
This series follows the character Leon S. Kennedy, voiced by Nick Apostolides, who’s battling zombies inside the White House. Meanwhile Claire Redfield (Stephanie Panisello) is looking into a mysterious drawing that could have information about the zombie outbreak and why it’s happening, and potentially a way to stop it. Their separate stories eventually link, forcing the two headstrong characters to work together to stop the undead hordes.
Eiichiro Hasumi helms Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, which is trying to emulate the massively popular live-action films. There is no news as to whether this is a one-off for Netflix, or if it could lead to further seasons. Whatever the case, with this being the 25th anniversary of the series, Capcom has a lot of surprises in store for fans and this anime series is just the start.
