New “Halo” Trailer Promises the “Ultimate Halo Experience”

Fans of Microsoft’s Halo franchise have been eagerly anticipating the next game in the series, though that installment was recently pushed to the Fall of 2021. However, audiences won’t have to wait that long to scratch their alien-fighting itch, as 343 Industries just dropped a new trailer for their re-release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

The compilation was originally released in 2014 and collected every mainline entry, from the original Halo: Combat Evolved to the somewhat disappointing Halo 4. At the time, the anthology was seen as a fantastic option for revisiting the games. Audiences were impressed and players both new and old flocked to the franchise.

And just as with any other modern game, The Master Chief Collection received frequent updated that would fix bugs and add new content. This is all coming to a crescendo now, with 343 Industries promising that the latest update will provide the “Ultimate Halo experience.”

The new, and perhaps final, major update for the game sees every single campaign mission for the assembled games added. The Forge component has also been enhanced and there are reportedly over 120 multiplayer maps available. Moreover, The Master Chief Collection has cross-play between Xbox and PC gamers, as well as cross-generational play, so Xbox One players will still be able to take part. This is all on top of a 4K graphics update and a switch to 120fps.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, as well as on Xbox’s Game Pass. It’s clear that a lot of time and effort have gone into providing Halo fans something unique and special. Given that Halo Infinite is still almost a year away from being released, this offering is both timely and an excellent way to keep the franchise in the limelight. The anthology works as a good introduction to new players, while being an excellent hit of nostalgia for those who have been with the franchise since the beginning.
