Launch Trailer: PlayStation’s “The Last Of Us Part 1”

After years of development, Sony Interactive Entertainment has released the launch trailer for The Last of Us Part I. The game is a from-scratch PS5 remake of the award-winning 2013 game. Importantly, the trailer is only for the PlayStation release, with a PC version said to still be “in development”.

Notably, the game’s environments have gotten significant upgrades which puts the PS5 tech to great use. The characters themselves have also been drastically scaled up, with the character models being much more detailed than in the original version and allowing the performances to be enlivened that much more. In conjunction with this, the art direction has been redone in order to allow for better lighting, overall, and a much better contrast between light and shadow.

In terms of gameplay, the physics and A.I. have both gotte a bosst, with a far more interactive environment. The amount of movable and/or destructable objects has greatly increased. with far more movable and destructible objects. Along with this, there is heavy usage of 3D audio and the DualSense controller will be essential to the gaming experience.

The Last of Us Part 1 is set to release on Friday, September 2nd.
